Regional Program

Discover the Region in a NEW way! This program encourages participants to see themselves as future regional leaders. Over the course of 4 months, this program develops leadership skills while connecting participants to other key leaders and issues that face the Region.

As an example, in 2017 participants met bi-weekly over four months in different locations in the Triangle. One class involved a tour of Pittsboro where the impact of the nationally recognized Chatham Park Development was unpacked. That same day, we enjoyed lunch prepared by the chefs of the Chatham County Community College Culinary School before visiting with world-renowned potter Mark Hewitt and local craft brewers. In Durham, the class met at ReCity to consider the work of social entrepreneurs and apply the lean canvas model to a Regional issue.

“I loved the diversity of the class in terms of backgrounds, ages, ethnicities, occupations, interests and passions. Even though I have lived in the Triangle since I moved here for college, the Leadership Triangle Regional Program enabled me to visit places I either didn’t know existed or had not been in YEARS! For me, the most eye-opening class was our trip to Healing Transitions in Raleigh. What emotional stories and what an incredible program! I was so glad to be offered the opportunity to take part in this course!”
