About Us

Leadership Triangle is a non-profit organization established in 1992 to educate and promote regionalism across the separate communities of the Triangle.

Classes & Programs

We provide regional and leadership development classes, seminars and awards. We strive to build leadership capacity, cooperation, and networking opportunities across the public, private and civic sector, preserving local uniqueness while acting
regionally to deal with issues such as traffic congestion, water quality, housing affordability, open space, school funding, economic and social equity. Are you a seasoned Triangle resident or have you just moved to the area? Would you like to:
Gain perspective on regional issues. Gain access to resources in dealing with regional issues. Connect with a broad and widely diverse network of other leaders. Be involved in enhanding the region’s quality of life. Improve your own leadership skills.

Regional Program

The Regional Class helps broaden typical “city-centric” points of views to a fully regional perspective. It exposes participants to living laboratories as they travel to Orange, Durham, Wake and Chatham Counties.

It is a fantastic leadership development experience that includes a 360 self-evaluation tool, instructors from the Triangle Universities’ Business Schools, interactions with other class members and Triangle leaders, and individual coaching. Goodmon Fellows who become Transforming Coaches, have an opportunity to learn,or elevate, their coaches skills with eight hours of training by world class instructors, and then implement those skills over several months.   APPLY NOW

“I have had the privilege to graduate from all three Leadership Triangle class series, so there is no excuse for me if I slip in my responsibilities as the current Board Chair! Each class has had its unique approaches, and as a group, they made me more aware of the many opportunities our region holds for all its citizens, as long as we continue to work together. The leaders I met through these classes have become invaluable friends and colleagues, and people who continually work with me as we plan for the “million people” influx that we face in the next ten years.”

Michael Goodmon,Chair, Leadership Triangle, member of LT Alumni Network graduate of the Regional Class Series, Personal Leadership Development Class Series (now call Transforming Leaders), and Executive Program
